The Gifts of the Spirit: Pentecostal Presbyterians?
April 9-11, 2010
Thanks to everyone who came out to the Granite State Lectures with Dr Richard B Gaffin, Jr. Dr Gaffin’s lectures on the true meaning of Pentecost and the role of the Holy Spirit in the finished work of Christ and in the Church were extraordinary. Many good questions were posed by the listeners which Dr Gaffin was able to use to enhance our understanding.
Dr Gregory Reynolds preached from Romans 8:18-30, “The Spirit Intercedes According to God’s Plan” on the Lord’s Day. Dr Gaffin’s lectures and Pastor Reynolds’ sermon are posted here for your edification:
Lecture 1: Pentecost and Christ
Lecture 2: Pentecost and the Church, Part 1
Lecture 3: Pentecost and the Church, Part 2
Sermon: “The Spirit Intercedes According to God’s Plan” by Dr Reynolds
Next year the Reverend Alan Strange, Associate Professor of Church History at Mid-America Reformed Seminary, is scheduled to be our speaker. More information will be posted when available.

Joanna Lynn Baqqi
( January 3, 1950 – Easter, April 4, 2010)
Joanna went to be with her Lord on Easter, April 4, 2010. She was born January 3, 1950, in New Haven, CT, the daughter of Harold Morowitz. She had an undergraduate degree in journalism from the University of Colorado in Boulder, a Juris Doctor degree from the California Western School of Law in San Diego; was admitted to the Colorado Bar in 1976; and completed a Masters Degree in library science at Southern Connecticut State University in 1994. Joanna has resided in Manchester since 1996 and was employed as a librarian at the New Hampshire State Law Library, the Bedford Public Library, and most recently in the Family Resource Connection, a division of the New Hampshire State Library. She loved everything to do with books and learning.
Joanna was an active member of the Amoskeag Presbyterian Church for the last decade. She was loved for her many acts of quiet kindness, reflecting the grace and love of her Savior. She was the church librarian, and was regularly giving books to people who enjoyed them.
She was a volunteer for the Manchester Animal Shelter, loved animals, cross-stitching, and doing things for other people.
Her family includes two children, daughter Laura Hoyt of Philadelphia, PA, son Matt Hoyt of Westminster, CO, four brothers, Eli Morowitz of Foster City, CA, Josh Morowitz of Easley, SC, Zach Morowitz of New Haven, CT and Noah Morowitz of Takoma Park, MD, many nieces and nephews, and her two beloved kitties, Quinn and Paisley.
Joanna will be greatly missed by her family, church, and friends. Our sorrow is deep, but her victory in her Savior is greater.
